Investment Inflation Calculator
What an investment will be worth in today's money once inflation is taken out, and its real yearly return.

How it's calculated
Nominal FV = S × (1 + i)^m + C × ((1 + i)^m − 1) ÷ i, i = (1 + r)^(1/12) − 1 Real value = nominal ÷ (1 + inflation)^years Real return = (1 + r) ÷ (1 + inflation) − 1
A balance that grows in money terms can buy less if inflation outruns the return. The real value shows the future balance in today's buying power, and the real return is the growth that is left after inflation (the Fisher relation, not simply return minus inflation).
