How it's calculated
GPA = Σ (grade points × credits) ÷ Σ credits A = 4.0 · A− = 3.7 · B+ = 3.3 · B = 3.0 … D− = 0.7 · F = 0
Each grade becomes points on the 4.0 scale, weighted by the course's credit hours, and the total is divided by all credits. Some schools count A+ as 4.3; pick that with the switch. Pass/fail courses usually carry no grade points, so leave them out.
