How it's calculated
TDEE = BMR × activity factor BMR (Mifflin-St Jeor) = 10 × kg + 6.25 × cm − 5 × age + 5 (men) or − 161 (women) Factors: 1.2 sedentary · 1.375 light · 1.55 moderate · 1.725 active · 1.9 very active
TDEE adds the energy of moving, exercising and digesting to your resting burn. The activity factors are broad, and most people overestimate how active they are; if unsure, pick the level below. Eat at your TDEE to hold weight steady, and check it against what your weight actually does over two or three weeks.
