KE
Kinetic Energy Calculator
The energy of a moving mass, or the speed or mass that gives a known energy.

How it's calculated
KE = ½ × m × v² m = 2 × KE ÷ v² v = √(2 × KE ÷ m)
Kinetic energy grows with the square of speed, which is why braking distance roughly quadruples when speed doubles. The result is in joules; 1 kJ is 1000 J. This is the classical formula and is accurate for anything far slower than light.
