P
Pressure Calculator
Pressure is force spread over an area: find any one of pressure, force and area.

How it's calculated
P = F ÷ A F = P × A A = F ÷ P
The same force on a smaller area makes a higher pressure, which is why a knife edge cuts and snowshoes don’t sink. A 70 kg person standing on 350 cm² of shoe sole presses on the floor at about 20 kPa (0.2 atm). Gauge pressures (tyres) are measured above atmospheric pressure.
